UAE Final Settlement Calculator

Estimate leave encashment, gratuity, notice allowance and other dues owed when UAE employment ends.

Fill in whichever sections apply to your situation — every field is optional, and the estimate below updates as you go.

A. Salary due

Any unpaid wages owed for time already worked.

B. Unused annual leave encashment

Paid out on your basic salary, not your total wage.

C. End-of-service gratuity

Uses the basic salary entered above. Only for foreign full-time employees in the standard federal private-sector regime; see the page limitations.

D. Notice allowance

Enter this only after establishing that a notice allowance is payable to you. It uses your last full monthly wage, not just basic salary.

E. Other dues

Only include amounts you're confident are actually owed.

Can be negative if it reduces what's owed.

F. Deductions

Other lawful deductions — a user-entered amount, not calculated automatically.

Enter the details for at least one applicable section to see your estimate

Who this calculator is for

This calculator covers common final-settlement amounts under the standard UAE federal private-sector regime, Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021. It is deliberately conservative and does not attempt to calculate every possible entitlement. It may not apply to you if you are:

  • Employed within the DIFC
  • Employed within the ADGM
  • A government employee
  • A domestic worker, who is covered by a separate regime
  • A UAE or GCC national, whose end-of-service/pension position follows separate social-security legislation
  • Enrolled in an alternative end-of-service savings scheme
  • Covered by another special employment arrangement, or subject to a dispute or court/MOHRE decision

How each part is calculated

Outstanding salary is a figure you enter directly — employers don't all prorate a partial month the same way, so this avoids false precision.

Unused annual leave is compensable on termination and is calculated from basic salary. This calculator estimates the daily amount as monthly basic salary ÷ 30; the divisor is a Taskmoro convention rather than a formula established by the supplied official sources.

Gratuity reuses our dedicated, separately-tested gratuity calculation module — the same rules explained in full on the UAE Gratuity Calculator.

Notice allowance, if notice wasn't fully served, is your last full monthly wage ÷ 30 per unserved day — based on your last wage, not basic salary only. The divisor is a Taskmoro convention rather than a formula established by the supplied official sources. It can be owed by either party depending on the facts, so include it here only when you have established that an amount is payable to you.

Other dues (bonus, commission, other contractual amounts) and deductions are only ever what you enter — this calculator never assumes or invents an entitlement or a penalty.

Disclaimer

This calculator provides a conservative estimate only. Actual final settlements can vary based on contract terms, notice situation, unpaid absence, commissions/bonuses, deductions, savings-scheme participation, free-zone rules, special employment regimes, or disputes and court/MOHRE decisions. This is not legal, tax, or financial advice, and not a binding legal determination. Check the latest MOHRE/UAE Government guidance, or consult a qualified advisor.

What is included in a UAE final settlement?

Commonly: any outstanding salary, payment for unused annual leave, end-of-service gratuity (if eligible), notice allowance if notice wasn't fully served, and any other contractual dues like bonuses or commissions — minus any lawful deductions.

How is unused leave paid when employment ends?

You're entitled to payment for any unused annual leave, calculated on your basic salary — regardless of how many days you have accrued.

Is leave encashment based on basic salary?

Yes. Like gratuity, unused leave encashment on termination is calculated using basic salary only, not your total wage.

How is gratuity added?

This tool reuses the dedicated UAE Gratuity Calculator module rather than recalculating gratuity differently here. The 1-year minimum and two-years'-wage cap are verified for eligible foreign full-time private-sector workers under the federal framework. The module's 21/30-day accrual constants and ÷30 divisor remain separately flagged for official-source confirmation.

How is notice pay calculated?

If contractual notice (typically 30–90 days) isn't fully served by either side, the party at fault owes a notice allowance based on the employee's last full wage for the unserved days.

How soon should final dues be paid?

Employers are generally required to pay all outstanding wages, entitlements and gratuity within 14 days of the contract ending.

Are bonuses or commissions included?

Only if you enter them yourself under "Other dues." This calculator never assumes a bonus or commission is owed — that depends entirely on your contract.

Does this apply to DIFC or ADGM?

No. DIFC and ADGM are separate free-zone jurisdictions with their own employment regulations. This calculator only covers the standard UAE federal private-sector regime.

Can deductions reduce the final settlement?

Yes, if you enter an amount under "Deductions." This calculator never invents or auto-calculates a deduction or penalty — it only reflects what you type in.
