UAE Leave Salary Calculator
Work out your UAE annual leave balance, your pay while on leave, and what unused leave is worth if you leave your job.
Allowances are optional: housing, transport and other fixed monthly amounts. They count towards pay while you are on leave, but not towards unused leave paid out when you leave.
Paid annual leave you have used since joining. Leave out sick leave, public holidays and unpaid leave.

What this calculator does
It works out how much annual leave you have earned since joining, takes off the leave you have already used, and shows what your remaining balance is worth in two situations: taking it as paid leave, or being paid for it when your job ends.
How annual leave is earned
- Under 6 months of service: no annual leave yet.
- From 6 months to 1 year: 2 days for each completed month.
- After 1 year: 30 days for each year, with the year in progress counted in proportion to the days worked.
Formula
Leave balance = leave earned − leave already taken.
Pay while on leave = (basic salary + allowances) ÷ 30 × leave balance.
Unused leave paid when you leave = basic salary ÷ 30 × leave balance.
For example, after 18 months with a basic salary of AED 6,000, AED 3,000 in allowances and 20 days already taken, you have about 25 days left. Taken as leave, they are worth about AED 7,500. Paid out when you leave, they are worth about AED 5,000.
Assumptions and limitations
Dividing a monthly amount by 30 to get a daily wage is a common calculator convention; the law does not set the divisor, and some employers use calendar or working days instead. Pay while on leave is estimated on your full wage; check your contract for which allowances it includes.
The calculator does not adjust for unpaid leave, part-time work, leave carried over under company rules, or contracts that give more than the legal minimum.
Disclaimer
This is an estimate, not legal or financial advice. Your contract, company policy, free-zone rules or a MOHRE decision can change the amount. Check the latest MOHRE guidance or ask a qualified adviser before relying on it.
How many days of annual leave do I get in the UAE?
Under the federal private-sector rules, you earn no annual leave in your first 6 months, then 2 days for each month until you complete a year. After a full year you are entitled to at least 30 days a year.
Is leave salary based on basic salary or full salary?
It depends on when it is paid. While you are on leave you are paid your wage for the leave period, which this calculator estimates using your full wage (basic plus allowances). Unused leave paid out when your job ends is calculated on basic salary only.
Can I carry unused leave into the next year?
Only with your employer's approval and in line with company rules. An employer cannot stop you from using leave you are entitled to for more than two years.
Do weekends and public holidays count as leave days?
Rest days and public holidays that fall inside your annual leave count as part of it, unless your contract or company rules are more generous. Enter the leave days your employer recorded.
Does this apply in DIFC or ADGM?
No. DIFC and ADGM have their own employment laws. This calculator covers the standard UAE federal private-sector rules only.
